Nanogate Coating Systems GmbH
Nanogate Advanced Materials (NAM) is a subsidiary of the Nanogate Technologies Group (NGT)
located in Saarbruecken, Germany. The company was founded in 2004 as a joint venture between
NGT and Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (APCI) and combines all activities around
nanopowders and their formulations.
The companies’ focus is on Nanointegration®, which means the integration of a variety of
nanomaterials into different systems, e.g. solvents, resins, paints and varnishes, polymers, etc.,
without any reagglomeration, tailored to customer requirements.
NAM offers an integrated platform of competences, from consulting to the selection of the best
suitable nanomaterial for the most interesting applications; from joint development projects up
to tailormade optimization of the customer systems. Of course NAM also assists in the implementation
of the production process.
A selection of common nanoformulations in different solvents offers a good starting point for
development projects and makes first quick results possible. Examples are based on Nano-Silver,
Nano-ZnO, Nano-Indium-Tin-Oxide (ITO), Nano-Antimony-Tin-Oxide (ATO), Nano-
Alumina, in solvents like Water, Isopropanol, Methylethylketon, Butylacetate, Toluene, Xylene,
just to name a few. Desired properties with these nanomaterials are UV- and IR-blocking, antimicrobial
effects or conductivity, all in combination with excellent transparency at visible light.
An interdisciplinary group of experts coming from leading institutes in the field of chemical
nanotechnology as well as business experts from companies are working with NAM.
In its role as a partner of innovation, NAM has developed a wide range of products which have
shown very interesting properties and are under testing right now at internationally well known
companies. NAM is cooperating with a lot of different companies worldwide.
