CeNIDE - Center for Nanointegration

CeNIDE-englisch.jpgCeNIDE, the Center for Nanointegration Duisburg-Essen, was founded in 2005 by members of the physics, chemistry and engineering departments as a framework for the diverse nano-activities at the Universtaet Duisburg-Essen (UDE).

CeNIDE is based on the strongly interdisciplinary research excellence in the area of Nanotechnology at UDE. This includes an exceptionally broad knowledge base in fundamental nanoscience, unique fabrication facilities for nanoscale materials in large quantities, and experience in questions of scalability and reliability.

The Know how incorporates a number of coordinated research networks, such as Collaborative Research Centers (SFB) and DFG Research Training Groups (GK)

* SFB 445 "Nanoparticles from the Gas Phase"

* SFB 491 "Magnetic Heterolayers"

* SFB 616 "Energy Dissipation at Surfaces"

and the Research Training Group (GK):

* GK 1240 "Nanotronics"

as well as several third party projects and joint ventures with industrial partners.

CeNIDE educates highly qualified young scientists with the novel NanoEngineering degree program located at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
