NanoNetzwerkHessen
The NanoNetzwerkHessen - NNH10-9 was established in March 2004 by 5 universities and 5 universities of applied science with the benefit of the provincial gouvernment of Hessen. The basic principal was a cooperation agreement to start a highly oriented interworking in the field of nanotechnology. The initiative NNH10-9 aims to focus on the existing competencies in the universities of Hessen for starting cooperation and to expand the location of nanotechnology in Hessen. The coordinator of NNH10-9 is the University of Kassel.
Researcher of physics, chemistry, biology, pharmacy, medical science, material science and other engineering technologies are working on the field of nanotechnology at the universities in Hessen. Even researchers from the humanities are dealing with the challenge of this science. Especially the penetration of classical disciplines boosts the innovation potential of the nanotechnology science and offers excellent initial condition for cooperation in Hessen.
The technologies at the universities in Hessen covers a wide range of activities. It starts from nanostructured materials, nanosystemtechnologies, nanomedical science, nanobio-technology and nanoanalytics. The NNH10-9 offers his partners on the one handside an infrastructure to start development expenses with researchers, engineers and users in the field of nanotechnology. On the other hand the network connects Science and Economics in such a strong way that a quick transfer from the nanotechnical knowhow to products, production processes and services can be easily achieved.
